  24. I am currently looking to buy a 3d Modelling/Animation program. I have looked
  25. at 3D Studio, some nice features, plug in's and a fast scanline renderer. But
  26. too expensieve ($3000) for the features offered, especially when trying to
  27. build organic objects. Sure, you can buy an IPAS to do it, but at typically
  28. around $250 a time, and being an Autodesk product, distubution is very
  29. strongly US orientated.

  31. I have looked at Real 3D, unusual front end, noticably slower being under
  32. windows than 3D Studio and even more memory hungry. But has tones of featuers
  33. as standard, you name it it probably has it - particles, inverse kinetics,
  34. script language, dynamics ... and a price I like 1000 ukp with good European
  35. (UK) tech support.

  37. So, what I have finaly been waiting for has arrived (and why the post)-
  38. Lightwave on the PC. Lots of features (from what I have heard) at a reasonble
  39. price, good rendering engine ...

  41. But here the crunch, I have never seen it, and I don't have a clue to where I
  42. can obtain it in the UK. I know its shipping in the US, but has it reach the
  43. UK ? So anybody,

  45. Q.Is there a demo/evaluation version, or does someone have a contact for
  46. Newtek ? I'm really after hands on stuff here, as working around a new
  47. package with a different interface is a lot different from looking at a
  48. video. In addition to this, what is Newteks support like, seems to be a
  49. regular post to the list on the subject.

  51. Q. Does Newtek have any tech support in the UK ?

  53. In addition to the above does anyone have any experience with any other 3d
  54. modeling/animation software for the PC e.g. I have seen a demonstration of
  55. Truespace (I believe about 500ukp) but it seemed a bit limiting.
